I wonder what's wrong with me. After getting back from morning prayer meeting today, I was so sleepy. I came back home and slept from 11am to 4pm. So I missed my lunch and am so hungry now... But I'm looking forward to my black pepper deer meat rice which will be delivered to my house in 30 minutes. Thank God for delivery services!
By the way, Pastor Tan led the morning prayer again this morning! I was so happy when I saw him on the stage. He shared a word in addition to what he shared yesterday. About the death and resurrection of Lazarus. John 11.
1 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.
There was an urgent need here - Lazarus was sick and he needed healing from Jesus. Everyone wants Jesus to quickly go and heal Lazarus. However, instead of going to see Lazarus immediately, Jesus stayed another 2 days at where He was.
7 Then after this He said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.”
8 The disciples said to Him, “Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?”
When the APPOINTED time came for Jesus to go, the disciples questioned him about going there. It's just like when we have an urgent need and pray for God to move, He didn't move. But when it's time that God wants to move, we doubt and ask God if it's the right time to move.
21 Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”
37 And some of them said, “Could not this Man, who opened the eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying?”
When things seemed urgent to us, God sees it differently. Most people said that if Jesus had been earlier, Lazarus would not have died. So to us, what seemed dead, to Jesus, it's still alive but just sleeping.
11 These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”
And ultimately we all knew what happened. Jesus resurrected Lazarus.
Many times when God moved us with a vision, we prayed and want God to answer our prayers quickly. But that vision is for an appointed time. As we continued praying, we develop our patience. God knows if He answers our prayers quickly, we will not depend on Him as much as compared to waiting and praying for our visions to come to past. Prayers builds intimacy and unfolds the mysteries of God. I better pray more.
